United
Nations in its resolution designated the 5th of September, the anniversary
of the death of Mother Teresa, as the International Day of Charity.
Mother Teresa, a Catholic nun who devoted her life to helping
India's poor, has been declared a saint in a canonization Mass held by Pope
Francis in the Vatican.Pope Francis delivered the formula for the canonization
of the Albanian-born nun -- known as the "saint of the gutters" --
before huge crowds of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square in Vatican City
on Sunday morning. He completed the formula of
canonization, in which he declared "Blessed Teresa of Calcutta to be a
saint."
- It is a kingly act to assist the fallen.
- Intense love does not measure, it just gives.
- Good works are links that form a chain of love.
- I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness.
- If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
- Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.
- We can do no great things, only small things with great love.
- Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand.
- The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.
- If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
- There is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation in this world than for bread.
