Eleven Etiquette of Eating by Muhammad PBUH
- Whenever one eats then he should say “In the name of Allah” (say بسم اللہ) and if he forgets to say “In the name of Allah” in the beginning then he should say “In the name of Allah from Beginning till end” (say بسم اللہ اولہ و آخرہ )
- Eat together and recite “In the name of Allah” (say بسم اللہ ), in this, there is blessing for you.
- Whenever someone enters the house and at the time of entering and eating recites “In the name of Allah” (says بسم اللہ ), the Devil says to his progeny that "you will not be able to live or eat in this house", and if at the time of entrance one doesn't recite “In the name of Allah” (says بسم اللہ), then he [the devil] says "that you have found a place to live" and if someone doesn't “In the name of Allah” (says بسم اللہ),at the time of eating then he says "you found a place to live and you have found food.
- Respect bread. It is from the blessings of the skies and earth. Whoever eats fallen bread from the table cloth for him there is salvation.
- Take off the shoes while eating because this is the better way.
- Prophet Muhaammad PBUH said, "I don't eat while (resting) on a pillow”.
- Do not leave the dining place until Food has been picked up.
- Cool your meal because there is no blessing in hot food.
- That meal which wasn’t started reciting “In the name of Allah” is illness and there is no blessing in it. The compensation for it is that recite “In the name of Allah” and eat something before finishing it and if you are finished with eating then recite “In the name of Allah and lick your fingers.
- When one eats then he should eat with the right hand and when one drinks then he should drink with the right hand.
- Lick the fingers and clear the dish. You don't know which part of meal has blessings.
